The Department of Botany is a vibrant and integral part of the institution, dedicated to the study and exploration of plant sciences. Established with the vision to foster a deep understanding of plant biology, ecology, taxonomy, physiology, and biotechnology, the department has consistently contributed to academic excellence and research. It offers undergraduate programs that blend theoretical knowledge with practical skills through well-equipped laboratories, herbarium collections, and fieldwork opportunities. The department has successfully skill development courses such as Shatavari Cultivation, Vermicomposting and Mushroom Cultivation. Through these courses students not only have learn practical skills but also has established their own business.
The department also actively promotes awareness of environmental conservation and sustainable development through seminars, workshops, and outreach activities. These activities have also proved useful in developing cognitive skill, vocational skills and life skills among students. With a team of highly qualified and experienced faculty members, the department ensures a student-centric learning environment, encouraging innovation, critical thinking, and scientific inquiry. Many of our alumni have excelled in careers in research and education.
