About Department

Department of sociology was established in the year 1999 with the establishment of the college.

The basic objectives was to cater to the needs of the education of sociology in Osmanabad area The education of sociology has got importance as it analysis society as a whole. it provides human resources in the form of lecturers in sociology, social welfare officers, rectors of hostels, superintendents of jail, research assistants, medical social workers and other similar services.

Thus sociology education has been always the choice of the students. considering it need and significance, the college introduced sociology as an academic subject. Shri. Thakur S. G. and Shri. Barate B. T. were the founder teachers in the department. Shri Mali A. V. joined the department in 2004 and Shri Gore A. R. joined in the year 2006 Shri. Gore A. R. is Head Of the Department at present.

The department is sincerely working to achieve the objectives it runs three year degree course of B. A. of Dr. B.A.M.U. Aurangabad.

  • The basic objective of sociology subject in UG level is to cater the needs of the education of sociology in Osmanabad region.
  • To analyze society as whole and suggest remedies for social issues.
  • To provides human resources in the form of lectures in of social welfares, rectors of hostel researchers, medical social workers.
  • To create social awareness about various social themes and involve students in social programmes and social movements.
  • To develop scientific approach among students about for developing a ideal citizens.
  • To inculcate in the minds of students the importance of gender, social and political equalities.
